All are welcome to join us and our special guest, Dr. Edward Benzel (pictured) as we discuss the book “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande.

Dr. Benzel has participated in several end-of-life discussion groups over the years, including some with Lucy Kalanithi, wife of Paul Kalanithi, the late neurosurgeon who wrote “When Breath Becomes Air.”

We are so pleased that Dr. Benzel can join us and we hope that you will too.

Dr. Benzel is Emeritus Chairman of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic and holds a faculty appointment, Professor of Neurological Surgery, at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He is an experienced facilitator in the Cleveland Clinic Center for Excellence in Healthcare Communication (CEHC). In this role he actively participates in communication training for Cleveland Clinic professional medical staff, as well as incoming residents and fellows. He has authored ten textbooks, edited 27 texts, and contributed to over 425 book chapters. We are excited for what he will bring to our discussion.
