Founded in 2016, Ohio End of Life Options is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization aiming to have legislation passed in Ohio that is modeled after Death with Dignity Laws in Oregon, Washington, Vermont, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, Maine, and Washington D.C.
Ohio End of Life Options also raises awareness about palliative and hospice care and believes the terminally ill should have access to all health care options at the end of life. Additionally, Ohioans are encouraged to explore end-of-life wishes, talk to those who need to understand them, and then document these plans.
Medical Aid in Dying
Awareness Education Advocacy
Our Mission: To advocate for passing a Medical Aid in Dying law for the terminally ill in Ohio. In order to do this, Ohio End of Life Options raises awareness and provides fact-based education about the aid in dying laws in 8 states and Washington D.C. Currently, Ohio does not have such a law.
Our Vision: All Ohioans will have the knowledge and power to direct their own end-of-life care. The values, beliefs, and preferences that each person brings to these decisions will be protected by laws and rooted in equity.
