Kathryn (Muffy) Kaesberg, our Chair of the Board, is a Cleveland native. Muffy came to the Ohio End of Life Options board after experiencing firsthand the prolonged death of a loved one. Her aunt, who had emphysema and congenital heart failure, chose to stop eating and drinking in order to die. It was not a decision that all in the family embraced, and the process took over a week. Muffy believed in our mission to provide medical aid in dying to the terminally ill in Ohio and is committed to helping us achieve this goal.

Volunteerism has always been a part of Muffy’s life. She was the first woman President of the Hawken School Alumni Association, is a Former Chair and member of the Board of The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, a board member of the Rose Centers for Aging Well, Beech Brook, and Ohio End of Life Options. Muffy is also a member of the task force for The Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County.  Formerly she served as a Trustee for The Cleveland Skating Club and is a founder and past Treasurer of NAPO North Coast Ohio.

Muffy grew up in Shaker Heights and attended Laurel and Hawken schools, earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management, and was formerly a Certified Financial Planner. After working in the financial industry at Key Bank for 16 years, Muffy opened her own professional organizing business Organizing 4 U. For the last 17 years, she has provided hands-on organizing to individuals in their homes and offices.

In her spare time, Muffy enjoys curling, skiing, yoga, walking, reading, and doing puzzles.  She is enjoying retirement and spending extra time with her husband Jim, daughter Julia and son Eric.
