Living and Dying: A Love Story is an intimate portrait of a family going through the experience of loved ones choosing to Oregon’s Death with Dignity law. Filmed by Sher and Rob Safran, it documents the last week of the lives of Charlie and Francie, Sher’s parents. Both had been given less than 6 months to live, and using Oregon’s law decided to die on their own terms, hand in hand. The documentary shows the family going through the process of the law, coming to terms with Charlie and Francie’s decision, celebrating the lives of their loved ones, and ultimately saying goodbye.
