In June 2019, Maine journalist Cindy Williams shared her family’s personal story. Her mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Ms. Williams shares their experience as her mother-in-law died without the option of Medical Aid in Dying.

Just days ago, Erik Carlson of Maine chose to end his life using Maine’s Death with Dignity Act that went into effect in September 2019. In this short video he talks about how and why he chose to end his life before his cancer robbed him of himself.
